Google’s New Logos: What went wrong?
It is presumed that Google must have researched and done a lot of brainstorming before bringing forward the new logos. Then, what went actually wrong? Why we are not able to accept the new ones.
COLOR Issue- Google has come up with a set of ‘unified’ logos. Google’s basic colors blue, red, green, and yellow are used in all logos. While using mobiles, it has become more difficult in distinguishing among all the logos in a small frame.
All logos look alike at a glance, and here team of Google proved wrong. The team has worked extensively to unify the logos, but, somehow forgets to get the real experience. People with even some minor color blindness could not locate the correct icon.
SHAPE Issue:
Folks are making complaints that at a quick look, they are not able to locate the desired one. They are missing the classic Gmail icon with envelope shape in white and red color. Only by the colors or shape, it was so easy to tell the difference among all. But now, confusion is spread worldwide. The original logos ruled the world as being solid ones. The green color and camera shaped-hole clearly stated Meet. Contrast, with the new one, you need to look again to confirm about it being a Meet Icon.
People on social media told that new Google logos have made the year 2020, even more, worse than COVID-19 did. Like this, a lot of emotional feelings were ruling all over the internet.
BRAND Issue:
Google, a big giant was supposed to introduce things with great logic behind them while due to new logos, it is rather difficult to understand the idea and aesthetics behind it.
However, change is mandatory yet, it takes time for getting acquainted. After two months of this launch, people are adapting to it and trying to get used to them. Yet, they miss the original icons. Some techies even welcomed the change. But, on a wider angle, here Google has done something not favorable though. Although by the time, everyone get used to of it and memories of G Suite fade away.
